Can I claim a concessionary discount?
Yes, indeed, we do offer concessionary fares. These are set at one half of the standard fare: thus, a fare normally 2/6d will be 1/3d for concessions. Six types of concession are currently available - for the young and the more mature, for students and the jobless, for the sick and the self-satisfied. Note (1) that minors under 5 years of age will travel free, as long as they are accompanied by an adult; (2) that the smug and self-satisfied will be charged double the normal rate.

How long does a Travel Pass last?
A 'Merry Idler' Travel Pass will allow you to travel on any of the Highland Railway Company's trains, at any time.
It can be used for your annual holiday, a week's exploration of mountain and sea, or just to get you to and from the hills during hunting season.
You can combine a Season Ticket with a concessionary discount.
The ticket can be purchased for one, two or four weeks, and can start on any date that suits you.
